August Events:

Friday, August 1: Moe Provencher and the Starlings

Moe Provencher - lyrically-driven lonesome americana/folk tunes featuring acoustic guitar, harmonica, and mandolin.

"Provencher captures an easy, timeless grace with "2+2" that recalls artists such as Gillian Welch or Caitlin Cary. Over spare acoustic guitar and kitchen-sink percussion, she provides sharp insight into love and politics in a voice that doesn't hit notes so much as glide past them. Provencher's work is free of the faux-twang affectations that plague other rootsy songwriters: When she and Tubbs hit those high lonesome harmonies, they sound about as comfortable in their genre as a cowboy in his old boots." Tizzy Asher, Seattle Post-Intelligencer

The Starlings are on a 6-month national tour in support of their 2nd album, "Marveling the While," the follow-up to their widely-received debut, "Songbook." They've received accolades from such places as Maverick Magazine (UK); spent several weeks on John Richards' (KEXP) "Top Ten Northwest Bands"; and shared the stage with the likes of Todd Snider, The Avett Brothers, Eilen Jewell, The Everybodyfields, Michelle Malone, Shannon McNally, and numerous NW artists.

"The Starlings vocal harmonies, acoustic goodness and sweet blend of folk and country set the stage for the band's storied original songwriting and the compelling presence of vocalist Joy Mills." -KEXP.org, 90.3 FM

Saturday, August 2: Jon Ladeau

Singer/songwriter Jon Ladeau is a multi-instrumentalist who has single handedly taken his sound around
the country on a quest to connect with people and spread positivity. In his travels he has taught himself to play banjo, mandolin, harmonica, kazoo, and turkey baster. You will find these in his set in addition to traditionally influenced songs on the guitar.

He has lived in NJ, NYC, Western Massachusetts, Colorado, in his car, and on your couch. He loves the outdoors and tries to get there everyday; even if it's just to check the mail. His favorite toy would be a motorcycle if he had one. His favorite color is blue and he doesn't mind run-on sentences. He recently set a new record for himself by driving 1,070 miles in one day.

From backwoods bluegrass in the Rocky Mountains, to barbecued blues in the streets of Memphis, all the
way to late night jams in NYC's underground, Jon pulls together a wide range of influences and experience into a sound that is uniquely his own. With a focus on solid songwriting that frequently leads to audience interaction, Jon continues to take his listeners to that next plane.
